Oh No I Didn’t

fiance, fitness, goals, training

Hey yall,

Today I moved my long run up to Monday instead of Saturday. On Saturday I get the joy of working all day (no sarcasm in that at all). However, after that I get to hang out with my future parent in-laws in Branson. Today I actually didn’t have to work, and I didn’t have school. My long run was 2 hours long today and I managed to get 13.1 miles in! Can we just let that sink in? Seriously, I never thought something like that would happen.

In the beginning of the run I felt defeated already. It wasn’t going great and I couldn’t get into my running groove. I was about to give up but instead I stopped and talked motivation to myself. I realize that makes me sound crazy but it works. Eventually, I found my groove again and got busy running. Since on treadmills got can’t set the time for over 99 minutes, I split my time in half. My first half I ran 6.5 miles in the 60 minutes. I was feeling good, but tired. Eventually, I got over myself and decided to finish my last hour. It also helped my fiance sent me encouraging text messages. While into my second half of my run, I accidently hit the emergency stop button. It was so annoying but I kept going. Towards the end of my run I struggled but I managed to finish strong.

Happy face from me because I feel so happy. Ignore the crazy hair, because that’s the joy of curly thick hair. I’m so happy with how my run went and how I managed to overcome my mental state of not being able to do. I think I have finally accepted that I can mentally do this now. Hope yall have great weeks and a great Monday. 🙂

Hey, hey

fitness, goals, training

Hey yall,

I have been running I promise. I know I said I’d be better at posting but life got crazy. I’m exhausted so it’s going to short and sweet, however next week will be better. I got two more runs in, but I wanted one more. Oh well such as life. I did run really well though, which is great. I also managed to run outside
Go me! I need to find a route that won’t have crazy drivers coming at me, which will be a challenge.

I’m running, I promise

fiance, fitness, goals, lifting, training

Hey yall!

I promise I’ve been running and working out. It’s just been crazy hectic in my life thanks to school, work, Half marathon training, and wedding planning. I’ve gotten to use my new shoes a few times and they have been great! Last week I ran well and got a weight lifting session in. I was going to lift one more day but my day became crazy because of wedding shopping.

Yesterday, I ran well and felt amazing. After I ran I went and lifted weight. It’s much easier to lift if you haven’t exhausted your body running 5 minutes before then. At the same time it is good to push your body, but I think I’m going to start running in the morning and lifting after classes.

On anther note, my fiance suggested we go paleo. This could be a struggle for me seeing as I’m Italian and love carbs. It would be interesting to see how the diet effects the body. It will be awhile before that happens because I have carbs galore I’m my pantry. We are going to try our best but limiting the amount of carbs but still we have to eat the food or it’ll go bad. Anyways I’ll be better the rest of the week about posting. I promise!

I’ve Got This… I Think

fitness, goals, training

Hey yall! Sorry it’s been so long. I’ve been a huge slacker and I’m crazy stressed. Between a wedding, school, work, and attempting to train for my first half marathon. The wedding would not be so bad if it wasn’t located 5 hours away and my fiance’s family lives 3 hours from me now. But I know I need to figure it all out quickly because I have one month until the half marathon. Holy cow… Only one month. That’s insane!

Anyways my run today was a rollar coaster. It started off decent and went well. I only stopped in the beginning because I was trying out new blue tooth headphones. I soon as I changed the  rubber ear pieces they fit much better. In the beginning I was just cruising along thinking everything is great, considering it’s been forever since I’ve run. Then the feeling of I need a bathroom or I am gonna die came up. As soon as ever happened it pretty much went downhill. I kept stopping because I had stopped once already. Yall know what I’m talking about? That’s why it sucks when you stop. So I was like great, so much for a decent run. Anyways after a mile of a self-pity party I got over myself.

The end of my run went fantastic. I managed to still run faster then I generally do. Not really sure how that happened but I’m pretty certain it’s because I stopped a whole lot less than I had been previously. My run was only 7 miles but in 65 minutes. I realize for a lot of people that’s not that day. I’m also starting to lift weights again, which is exciting. I’m hoping it helps me to become a better runner and get to my goal by the time of my wedding.

Shorty

fitness, goals, training

Well today’s run was not very far or very long. At least I got a run in though. I switched my Wednesday run to today and today’s to Wednesday. It was only a 45 minute run but it was still a decent run. I got about 4.85 miles in, which was good. However, before starting my run I felt pain in my knees and just hoped it would be fine. Getting into my run though, my hips started acting up. I continued running anyways (which may or may not come back to bite me) but eventually decided I wasn’t going to make the hour. My left hip continued to give me pain and my knee. It was a good thing I stopped because my hip still hurts and won’t really stop. Overall though I’m really glad I got a short run in still.
