Thanksgiving Craziness

Hey, hey!

Today was a little weird for working out because my gym was only open for four hours. It is at my college, so that makes sense it would close early for the holidays. Yesterday I ended up being a bum, which I had not done in ages so my body needed a day like that. It was not that I was a complete bum either. In the morning we (fiance and I) took our puppy to the vet and got her some new toys.

After all that was done my fiance had to go to work and I relaxed. Later he texted me and said we were going out to celebrate his new full time position at the place he works. It was delicious. Since we do not eat out a lot, that is my one time I can eat whatever I want and not worry about strict healthy eating habits.

My workout today was back and biceps. My biceps feel like jello, so that’s promising. My back muscles are crazy sore already. I conquered my fear of the hyper-extension bench for lower back. I’m crazy self-conscious and it is right in view for all the treadmill people to watch. I did it and feel crazy accomplished about it. I’m not sure why I’m so self-conscious about working out in front of people. It’s only for lifting though, because when I run I tune everyone and everything out.

For my run today it was twenty-five minutes of intervals. It went really well considering I’m a clutz and have a deep giant bruise on my knee. At first I thought it would be an issue, but as I keept going it got better. Anyways it was great to be running. I’m hoping I can get up early enough to run before we leave for thanksgiving with my fiances family.

Productive

Hey yall!

So today I almost didn’t go workout. I really wanted to finish reorganizing my kitchen because it desperately needed done. My fiance and are so blessed with what everyone has given us for our marriage. By the way it is only 37 days away! Hazzah! I’ll probably have to rearrange again after the wedding but maybe not because I have a tiny bit of extra space. My reorganization took me about 4 hours, but now think about how small apartment kitchens are. I’m a slight neat freak.

Anyways back to my workout. Today was legs… Again. I feel like it’s all I do anymore but it’s my fault for doing a double workout in order to finish school work. My legs have not quite recovered from my last leg day so hopefully I can walk for school tomorrow. I mean I do have 3 flights of stairs to go up. I’ve also decided it does not matter how in shape you are those stairs will kill you. I mean the people not in shape it really kills and the rest of us are just like why. But overall my leg workout went well even though it hurts to just walk still…

For my cardio I did a 5k of course. It went well considering the place smelled like paint. I opened the window for that one. It got better as I kept going. I’m not sure if that means I got used to the smell or the window actually helped. It doesn’t really matter because it went away anyways

Double or Nothing

Sorry about such long delays between post. Work has my scheduled many hours these next few weeks. On top of that school has added a bunch of homework and nonsense. I wanted to make sure I had that I had homework done ahead of time with it being thanksgiving next week. T

Yesterday I managed to get a run in with my fiance. It’s been crazy how long it’s been since we’ve worked out together. Sadly, he did not see my best run but oh well. I ran a 5k because I was planning on doing legs. My program has 2 days for leg day. That just seems like nonsense. Oh well. However, I did not make it the gym because my fiance showed up later than planned. Along those lines, I had a lot of homework that needed done

Today for my workout I ran another 5k because I really did leg day. It was awful my legs feel like jello and I barely got walked out of the gym. Then of course going up and down stairs was just crazy nonsense. Originally I was not sure I did a whole lot but once I stopped I was like oh crap. It was crazy how once I stopped I just felt it. It was my second leg day for the well, and my last one the soreness lasted forever. No exaggeration at

My other workout for the day was shoulders and abs. I have such weak shoulders. I guess it does make sense you won’t use as much weight for shoulders. Especially after I just worked my legs with a bunch of weight. My shoulders are going to be sore for sure tomorrow. It went well for my abs as well. My program has me do about three different ab workouts. Whatever it is, it seems to work because by the end of the third exercise in feeling th

Busy, Busy, Busy

Hey yall!

I did workout yesterday but got busy doing things so I didn’t have time to post. I did take Tuesday off because I had a bunch of drainage, and I figured better safe than sorry. Yesterday was biceps and back muscle day. I definitely pushed my biceps. It was entertaining because all the other girls were working their abs or doing cardio. All I could think was hey let’s work something shall we? I’m really nice when I workout as you can see. Today’s workout went well. My fiance and I argued about if triceps are fun. I do not believe they are. I didn’t get a run in because of the amount of homework I have. I will always put school first because it is more important. Anyways next time hopefully I’ll have time to give a better blog. Sorry! Until tomorrow.

Who Did This

Hey yall!

Last week I ended on a crazy busy note and ended up not getting my workout in. I also needed some sleep, and I was lacking in unary area a great deal. However, I’m not letting that stop me or my progress at this point.

Today I worked out at 7:30 with my new r workout buddy. I pretty much ran while she lifted though. I think next time I’ll just run before I meet up with her, so we can kinda do something together. But I ran my best 5k, since before my half marathon training started. Go me!

It may not be super fast but hey all is good. Progress is progress. I’m still pleased with it and feel good.

It was leg day and Monday. I mean who does that to themselves. That’s right, me. I’m not sure what’s up with that but oh well. It was tough and I will be feeling it  especially since I have work after my workout. It had me do barbell squats but the machine my school has is self spotting and I’ve never used one like that.

Do Tell

Hey yall!

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday but between work and a test, I’ve been a little busy. I also did not workout Monday and Tuesday because Monday exhausted me and Tuesday was my rest day. Anyways, yesterday’s workout went well. It was triceps and chest day. Before that I ran twenty minutes of intervals. I definitely pushed it with my triceps because they are jello after words. They are not as sore as they were last time. However, my chest is sore the day after and I can feel it when I run.

As for today’s workout, it was fantastic! Today I ran intervals for twenty five minutes. They are getting a little easier and my body is becoming adjusted to short sprints instead of hours of running. However, I still run 5ks that keeps me somewhat limber for long distance. My biceps were jello after today’s workout and are sore. I’ll feel my back muscles tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be an intense workout because I’m doubling up on my workout. Since I missed Tuesday and I won’t have time Saturday to get it in, I’m going to do two workouts tomorrow. It’ll suck but I have a workout buddy now, so yay me! But seriously I’m happy I found one. I’m hoping I can help her out and that she’ll be the motivation for those days I don’t feel like doing it.

The Struggle

Hey yall!

I did work out yesterday, but between a school project and work I had no time to blog. It was shoulders and abs day. I thought about using that as an excuse to not lift anything high for work, but I figured they would think I was lying. Anyways it was a great workout.

As for my run before my workout, it went fantastic. I just did a 5k run but it went well. I even managed to shave a few seconds off from my last one. On Thursday I ran intervals. I was planning on lifting that day but something came up. So it got pushed to Saturday but hey, I still lifted.

Today I finally went out and got fresh veggies and fruits. It has been hard trying to figure out all I can eat and cannot on a paleo diet. However, within the first week I felt way more energized. But on Saturday I felt drained and exhausted. I haven’t decided if it’s because my body is fighting something or the fact that I started a healthier way of eating and a new workout. It could be a combination of both. I’m hoping after the rest days I’ll feel better. But I’m still super excited about this next journey.

It’s That Time of Year

Hey yall!

Today was the wonderful leg day for my workout. It was great but I’m sure I’ll be feeling it tomorrow. My legs were feeling a little like jello when I left the gym. I realize it’s a good thing but I have an 8 hour shift at work tomorrow. I did my weight lifting after I finished my classes.

Before my classes I ran because then I had that done and could study for my test. For my run today, I just did a 5k. I am not crazy enough to do am interval run with incline on leg day. Plus it’s good to mix up cardio. It was not my fastest one, but my goal was up do an easy run. Not pushing the speed was my challenge because I always want to beat a time.

Yesterday, my fiance let me put up the Christmas tree and tonight we get to decorate it. I’m so excited because Christmas is my favorite holiday ever.  Along those lines, I attempted to make paleo cookies with peanut butter, bananas, honey, and an egg. It turned into cookie bars and feels more like a fudge texture. The piece I ate out of the oven tasted good at least.

Going All The Way

Hey yall!

So today was another successful day for working out. I increased my interval runs by 5 minutes (this was planned from the beginning) and still set the same high speed as my goal.

It is so strange to only run in short intervals instead of hours on end. However, tomorrow I’m going to do a 5k run because it’s leg day. I have no desire to do intervals with inclines on leg day. I’m not that crazy. On my run today, I went in and saw there was this white powder stuff all over the treadmill. At first I thought it was sometimes protein powder (I mean what else would be in a fitness center) they spilled. But towards the end of my run the maintenance guys came in and looked at things in there. My music was to loud to here what they were saying but I’m hoping it’s too shut the heat off.

My lifting program today was working the back and bicep muscles. My arms and chest are sore from yesterday still, but I pushed through. One of my workouts required the one machine that was broken in the gym. I found a replacement one that was probably a little more tough because it was free weights. All I’m saying is bodybuilding.com is an amazing website.

I also decided last night that I was done going half way on eating healthy. I told my fiance I was going all the way (at least until the wedding, we shall see how I feel after that) but I would of course fix him other things. He did say he would try going all the way with me, but I’m not going to make him do all my crazy ideas. I’m thankful he’s so supportive though.

Let’s Go

Hey yall!

I know it’s been awhile, since I’ve posted. Sorry about that but school has kept me busy, busy, busy. Anyways I’ve started my new training program today! I was going to yesterday, but I guess my body wanted to sleep instead. I hear that happens when you decide you want to do morning workouts out of the blue.

Anyways, I’ve started back at it officially! I’m so excited to see where this new journey takes me. I’m still learning something new about being healthy everyday. I’ve met new friends who are super healthy and have become my new inspiration. They are willing to put up with all my crazy questions about everything, which is awesome.

As for my workout it was chest and triceps day. I’m sore already, so apparently I did something right. I’ve also incorporated interval running into my workout. It is much different than long distance running. The run shocked me a little in the beginning because I didn’t realize it would also have incline. Apparently, between everything I worked my lower abs because they are sore and it wasn’t abs day (my chest is already sore as well) .

Along those lines of things I haven’t posted… My fiance and I did a 5k on Sunday! I’m so proud of him. I’ve asked him so many times to do it with me. I always told him I would walk it with him, if he would just do it. He finally gave in and agreed!

In the beginning of the race he was like let’s jog. I went along with it but was a little worried he would have issues later on. He’s a former lineman and they really only have two speeds: sprint short distances and walk super slow the rest of the time. However, he finished the last little bit at a jog as well. Anyways, thought I’d brag on him a little.
