Hey Yall, 

I feel like this week has been crazy long. Some weeks tend to just feel longer than others. I ended up lifting in the morning before my training in the morning. It was biceps and back day. While it was a slight struggle to lift in the morning, I still managed to get through. My biceps felt the lactic acid and I’m sure I’ll be feeling it tomorrow. It can be challenging to feel anything for working out my back because of the weight lifting limit. I have to get a lot of reps in for the lat pull down exercise. I’m impressed I managed to finish to the workout, since it was early in the morning.

Hey Yall,

Hey, hey

Today my lifting was for chest and triceps. I increased reps and the amount of weight I several different exercises. If I’m remembering correctly, this is the first time in awhile that I’ve done triceps and chest not early in the morning. I feel like that helped me out today. It was wonderful to be able to increase my reps for incline dumbbell bench press. While it was only by two reps, it’s still more than I was doing. My triceps by the end I could feel the lactic acid building. It was a little painful, but hey at least I know I’m working out those muscles.

Today I walked after my lifting. It went pretty well considering I walked yesterday, and also went over my steps. I went over my steps today as well (go me). For the most part I had no aches and pains. I mean I got a little distracted by big flying bug in the area, so that helped me not really focus on walking. Seriously, it was gross but never stopped moving so I could not kill it. The last two minutes of my cool down I got some pain that hurt pretty good. Eventually I figured out that if I made sure I had perfect posture, it went away. I am not sure if I was really starting to walk weird or not, but at least I figured it out. Plus after that I never had any issues and finished without any pain.

Hey Yall, 

Today I had work later in the day. It’s not really getting me into the habit of waking up early and working out, but at least I did. My weights were for legs and abs today. I increased my weight for my leg workouts on pretty much every exercise. The only ones that didn’t increase were my hip exercises. I increased my reps for squats, which basically is increasing my weight because I’m at the max weight I can lift at this point. I felt pretty good for lifting more weight. My ab exercises I even increased weight on. I mean I know I’m going to need all the help I can. As for my planks, I feel my shoulders getting tired before anything else. I’m not sure if this is because my form is off or my shoulders are just that weak. Who really knows. Next week since I’ll be in third trimester I’m changing up my workout anyways. 

My walk today was for an hour. I only went at a 3.5mph speed. My watch said I still went over 4 miles, so I’ll go with it. It was easier to go slower and I didn’t feel as many aches and pains. I figured if I have time for the hour walk I’ll walk slower. However, if it is a shorter walk then I’m going to try to walk faster. We will see how that all works out for me as time goes on and I get further into this pregnancy. I still managed to go twice my goal steps today, so go me. My goal steps aren’t as high as they are when I was running, but hey I’m still going to take it.

Hey hey, 

Today I had early training so I ended up not doing anything in the morning. However, my training ended early so I got to go home and work out. 

My lifts today were shoulders and abs. I always forget how much less weight I can lift with my shoulders. It always amazes me how are shoulders hold up and can do, but when it comes to lifting weights I can’t ever lift that much. As for my abs I felt the soreness pretty quick. I didn’t last as long as I was hoping but hey I’m growing a child. I also managed to get a short walk in. It was only 25 minutes but one of my kids I had today always wants to be moving. So basically I got in an my steps and then some thanks to that kid. 

Figuring it All Out

Hey hey, 

So today I only lifted in the morning. I had a 9 hour shift, and figured sleep was more important. Actually, the past two days I’ve had ten hour shifts. So, as long as I’m not up super late tonight my goal is to walk in the morning before work and lift. My overall goal is to walk in the days that I don’t work ten hour shifts. Anyways, we will see how this works out for me. My husband can be trouble to sleep with because he comes home after I’m already asleep. It can wake me at times, but oh well. 

Today I did lift. My workout today was biceps and back. I could definitely tell my biceps haven’t been worked in awhile. It was pretty quick that I could feel the burn. Surprisingly, even though it’s been awhile since I’ve done biceps I could still lift the same. That’s always an accomplishment in my book. My back muscles are already sore from being pregnant. Thankfully, no crazy pain but enough it can be a nuisance at times. But at least I still can work my muscles. 

It’s Only Tuesday

Hey Yall, 

My workout today was chest and triceps. I could already feel the soreness in my chest. Surprisingly my lifting went well considering I did it in the morning and had nothing to eat. I’m probably going to try to start eating a banana first, so I’m not burning calories that u haven’t eaten yet.  It was not as big of a challenge as I thought it would be to get up early and lift. However, I want to try to walk in the morning as well. After work I’m ready to just relax and go to bed. Even though I didn’t end up walking in the morning, I still managed to get over my steps on my watch. Working with kids I feel like I’ll get that way a lot. My goal is to still get up early enough tomorrow to walk and lift, but we shall see. It is going to be another ten hour shift. 

Motivation Monday

Last week I didn’t work out consistently. It is much more challenging with this new job and almost being into my third trimester. However, on the weekend I still swam a few “laps” in the pool. It’s just one of those above ground pools, so they aren’t really laps. But I still felt like it was something at least. Plus a few of the days I always walked past my goal steps. 

I’m hoping that since I did workout today, on a Monday, that it’ll be easier to stick with. My next three days at work are going to be long, so my goal might just go get weights in. For my job, a few kids are pretty active, which will help to at least get all my steps in. Today I managed to get an hour walk in. My fitness watch said it was a little over 4 miles, even though the treadmill didn’t. It really doesn’t matter because I’m feeling pretty good for just walking an hour. I ended up doing my 5 minute cool down on the elliptical. It was interesting because it’s been so long, since I’ve used an elliptical. 

My weights today were for legs and abs. I’m really thankful I don’t have to limit the amount of weight I lift for my legs. It always reminds me that I can lift a decent amount of weight. Based off some things I’ve read, it would appear that squats are good for pregnancy. So I may start really trying to increase my reps for squats. My ab workout really didn’t suck as bad as I thought it might. When I did planks, I didn’t feel like I was going to die by the end of the time. It really seems to bother my shoulders before I ever feel it in my abs. I don’t think it was ever like that before I got pregnant, so that might just be why. Today was a good day for workout out. 

It was even a good day at work. I know that’s a crazy statement for a Monday but it is true.

Lets Move it, move it, move it

Hey Yall, 

I am for reals starting back at working out again. Starting a new job it always takes awhile to get back in the habit. Today I walked inside for time reasons. It was in between my doctor appointment and going to work. I didn’t go as fast as the 15 minute mile pace, so I didn’t go 4 miles. However, I still went an hour for walking. My goal is to keep going for an hour as long as possible, even if that means I don’t go 4 miles. According to my fitness watch, I still went the 4 miles. I figured I’ll take it. My little baby boy has been more active than ever. I can now see him pushing against my stomach when he moves. If he can be that active in the womb, I can make sure to be as healthy as possible. 

I also worked out my legs today. However, I made sure I didn’t over do it. It’s been two weeks since I’ve lifted, so I didn’t really want to push it to hard. It felt great to push my muscles again. I know for many people that just sounds crazy but it works. For some of the exercises I know I could have pushed it a little more, but I didn’t want to. At some points I feel like I don’t push hard enough just because I’m pregnant, but I also want a healthy pregnancy. 

Walking Along

Hey Yall, 

I took last week off from any working out. Between starting a new job and not having a week off in a few months, I figured it was about time. Today I only walked. My goal was too lift as well but it didn’t happen. My hubby walked with me outside for a little while. I was impressed with how long he lasted, since he doesn’t walk as long as me. Plus he has previously pulled his hamstring and was still in a little pain from that. However, we took all three dogs and they seemed to enjoy it. Each of them managed to behave themselves the whole time. It was impressive. I end up finishing my four miles inside on the treadmill. Honestly I wasn’t that bummed about it. It was interesting to do some of the walk outside and some inside. I was just happy to be walking with my hubby.
