Three Days Down

Hey yall,

I’ve officially walked three days this week. I was going to go yesterday as well but my baby boy had other plans. Because I knew I only wanted to get in a minimum of three days, I didn’t really push getting a walk in yesterday. I feel like I was busy doing something but honestly I have no idea.

Today I did walk. I managed to get all 30 minutes plus the 5 minute cool down in and a shower before my son woke up. It was great. Since I didn’t have to hold him this time, I got to walk the whole thing at a 4mph pace. It was good to know I could actually go that pace and maintain it. Especially since next week I’m going to try getting back into running. When I first started running I used a couch to 5k program. It worked great and it is easy to tweak to fit my fitness level (right now is none). My goal is to start that next week and see how it goes.  The week after that I’m hoping to add in some weights and get going on that again. I’m trying to take it slow and ease my way back in. Hopefully  it is slow enough.

Consistent

Hey yall!

Just a little FYI I did workout last week but it got crazy busy for me to blog. Sorry, but I have no desire to stay up late to blog. I really need my sleep. Anyways I went to a concert that was so much fun. It was a Cole Swindell concert. I figured I’d see him before it cost an arm and a leg to see him in concert.

Over the weekend I had the chance to go ride a horse. I realize this blog makes me seem like a runner and that’s it. However, I’m an equestrian at heart. It’s just an expensive sport (worse than running, who knew) that l can’t do all the time. One reason is because my home barn is located in my home state, and I haven’t found a barn here. I haven’t tried real hard to find one because it is expensive. Anyways needless to say my legs were not crazy sore. My inner thighs were a little sore and the inside of my knee. The inside of my knee was sore because of bruising from holding on to the saddle.

Today I went for great run. I was a little nervous at first because I had taken three days off and didn’t do my long run. But it went pretty well. I’m the beginning I was feeling like I could fly and went out a little too fast for to long. My first mile felt fantastic needless to say. I barely walked and only stopped when my poor pup needed to go. She tries so hard to not stop and go but it’s cruel to make a dog run and go to the bathroom. When getting into my second mile it was a little slower but probably a little too fast still. It felt good though, however, I was starting to really feel the humidity. My skin was getting gross but I kept on going. Looking at my last mile I shake my head. It was the worse mile out of all of them. Even during my training for the half last year my third mile was the worst. But once I get past that mile I start “leveling” out and becoming consistent. One of these days I will hopefully figure it out. I know my first mile was fast because I just felt amazing but I have to learn to hold that back and be consistent.

My lifting was for chest and triceps. It was crazy intense and my arms/chest have become jello. I was trying to open my ground turkey with that easy peal, and it was a challenge. Getting plates down made my arms shake, so I think it was a good lifting day. While I’m sure I’ll feel the pain tomorrow, I’m glad I can feel the jello now. It means I did well. I almost didn’t go because I still wish my husband would join me, but I sucked it up and went

Consistency is Key

Hey yall,

So today was leg day. Yay! I’m so just kidding. I also used my new garmin vivoactive for the first time. I didn’t completely use it correctly because it took me a little bit to realize how to actually start the thing. I ran for over a little half an hour and felt alright about it. I’m not sure what got over me but I didn’t feel like it was a decent run. At one point I became positive it was just my mind getting to me. But I’ve been consistent all week with working out this week. The last few weeks have been crazy so it really messed with my schedule.

Leg day, oh leg day. It went really well. I’ll be not walking tomorrow but that’s OK. A girl saw me start in on lunges and was like hey you wanna walk lunges around the track with me. She didn’t want to do it by herself. I could tell she was a straight up jock. Don’t get me wrong, I know a lot of jocks and they are amazing people. However, some are crazy shallow and focused on themselves. It was interesting to workout with someone.

It’s A Love/Hate Thing

Hey yall!

So today was a double day because homework and work prevented me from working out yesterday. Darn school. It’s only going to get worse to.

My workouts were legs, chest, and abs. My chest I’ll feel tomorrow and hopefully my abs as well. Legs however are a different story. My gym is in the second level and I walked like a drunk person after words. I’m not sure what was up with today’s workout but it was crazy. I think it’s because their was a combination of low weight high rep workout and hight weight low rep. I mean it makes sense. I also ran a 5k this morning. It went well considering it’s like 80 degrees in that fitness center.

Sorry it’s short but it’s late and I need sleep.

Double or Nothing

Sorry about such long delays between post. Work has my scheduled many hours these next few weeks. On top of that school has added a bunch of homework and nonsense. I wanted to make sure I had that I had homework done ahead of time with it being thanksgiving next week. T

Yesterday I managed to get a run in with my fiance. It’s been crazy how long it’s been since we’ve worked out together. Sadly, he did not see my best run but oh well. I ran a 5k because I was planning on doing legs. My program has 2 days for leg day. That just seems like nonsense. Oh well. However, I did not make it the gym because my fiance showed up later than planned. Along those lines, I had a lot of homework that needed done

Today for my workout I ran another 5k because I really did leg day. It was awful my legs feel like jello and I barely got walked out of the gym. Then of course going up and down stairs was just crazy nonsense. Originally I was not sure I did a whole lot but once I stopped I was like oh crap. It was crazy how once I stopped I just felt it. It was my second leg day for the well, and my last one the soreness lasted forever. No exaggeration at

My other workout for the day was shoulders and abs. I have such weak shoulders. I guess it does make sense you won’t use as much weight for shoulders. Especially after I just worked my legs with a bunch of weight. My shoulders are going to be sore for sure tomorrow. It went well for my abs as well. My program has me do about three different ab workouts. Whatever it is, it seems to work because by the end of the third exercise in feeling th

Who Did This

Hey yall!

Last week I ended on a crazy busy note and ended up not getting my workout in. I also needed some sleep, and I was lacking in unary area a great deal. However, I’m not letting that stop me or my progress at this point.

Today I worked out at 7:30 with my new r workout buddy. I pretty much ran while she lifted though. I think next time I’ll just run before I meet up with her, so we can kinda do something together. But I ran my best 5k, since before my half marathon training started. Go me!

It may not be super fast but hey all is good. Progress is progress. I’m still pleased with it and feel good.

It was leg day and Monday. I mean who does that to themselves. That’s right, me. I’m not sure what’s up with that but oh well. It was tough and I will be feeling it  especially since I have work after my workout. It had me do barbell squats but the machine my school has is self spotting and I’ve never used one like that.

It’s That Time of Year

Hey yall!

Today was the wonderful leg day for my workout. It was great but I’m sure I’ll be feeling it tomorrow. My legs were feeling a little like jello when I left the gym. I realize it’s a good thing but I have an 8 hour shift at work tomorrow. I did my weight lifting after I finished my classes.

Before my classes I ran because then I had that done and could study for my test. For my run today, I just did a 5k. I am not crazy enough to do am interval run with incline on leg day. Plus it’s good to mix up cardio. It was not my fastest one, but my goal was up do an easy run. Not pushing the speed was my challenge because I always want to beat a time.

Yesterday, my fiance let me put up the Christmas tree and tonight we get to decorate it. I’m so excited because Christmas is my favorite holiday ever.  Along those lines, I attempted to make paleo cookies with peanut butter, bananas, honey, and an egg. It turned into cookie bars and feels more like a fudge texture. The piece I ate out of the oven tasted good at least.
